Uncompromising Devotion in Babylon
Taken captive as a young Jewish nobleman to the imperial court of Babylon, Daniel faced immense pressure to assimilate. Yet he resolved in his heart not to defile himself with royal foods sacrificed to idols. God blessed his steadfast allegiance with exceptional wisdom, understanding of visions, and favor before kings.
Interpreter of Dreams and Empires
When King Nebuchadnezzar demanded to know his forgotten dream under penalty of death, Daniel sought God in prayer. He revealed the multi-metal statue representing world empires culminating in the everlasting Kingdom of God. Decades later, Daniel fearlessly deciphered the divine writing on the wall announcing Babylonâs sudden downfall.
The Lions' Den and Cosmic Prophecy
Under Persian rule, corrupt officials manipulated King Darius into outlawing prayer to anyone but the king. Undeterred, Daniel continued praying three times a day.
