November 22nd: Thankful for Today | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Kids Devotional
Carpooling with JesusHey Carpool Crew, it’s Pastor Justin — and today we’re talking about something super simple but really powerful: being thankful for today. Have you ever been stuck at a red light, just waiting for it to turn green? You can feel it coming — the moment you finally get to go — but for now, you’re just sitting there. Sometimes life feels exactly like that. We’re rushing to school, to practice, to everything… and we forget to slow down and thank God before the day turns green. In Psalm 118:24, it says, “This is the day the Lord has made; let’s rejoice and be glad in it.”The writer of this psalm wasn’t having a perfect day — but he still chose to thank God. Why? Because he knew that every single day is a gift. That means today, tomorrow, even an ordinary Tuesday — God made it, and it’s worth celebrating. If Jesus were sitting next to you at that red light, I think He’d smile and say, “Before your day speeds up, take a second to thank My Father for the gift of today.” Gratitude isn’t just for big moments — it’s for the everyday ones too.In this episode, we’ll talk about how taking a short pause to say, “Thank you, God,” can change your whole attitude. You’ll even learn a simple prayer you can say with your family before you leave the driveway each morning:“God, thank You for this day You made. Help me make the most of it.”Before you go, talk about this together: What’s one thing you can thank God for before your day even gets busy? And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.Christian kids podcast, Bible stories for kids, kids devotional podcast, Jesus podcast for children, short Christian podcast for kids, podcast for kids in the car, faith-based podcast for children, Christian content for school mornings, daily Bible podcast for kids, morning devotions for families, Bible podcast for elementary kids, Jesus stories kids love, teaching kids about faith, helping kids follow Jesus, Christian parenting resources, raising Christian children, encouraging Christian kids, learning about Jesus for kids, Christian media for families.
